Join the ACG Auxiliary for a walking tour of the 145,000 square foot Mint Museum Uptown, one of two museum locations, located in the heart of Charlotte’s city center. The museum houses collections of American, contemporary, and European art, and boasts one of the largest art collections in the Southeast. Enjoy a variety of exhibits, featuring Craft in the Laboratory: The Science of Making Things, which explores how artists and designers use science and math to create works of art. During our visit, there will also be a traveling collection entitled American Made: Painting and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection. This exhibition will feature 100 paintings and sculptures from the 18th to the 20th centuries and marks the first time works from the collection have been brought together to be viewed in one location.
