Friday Courses
Receive in-depth updates on the latest in GI and hepatology, endoscopy, and practice management when you attend one or more of the optional Friday courses. Seven courses are offered: five half-day courses, the GI Pathophysiology Course, the What’s New in GI Pharmacology Course, the Practice Management Summit, the ACG Advanced Practice Provider Leadership Summit, and the Women’s Initiative for Success & Empowerment in Gastroenterology Leadership Course; one evening course, the Guide to the Guidelines Course; and one full-day course, the ASGE/ACG Endoscopy Course.
ACG Advanced Practice Provider Leadership Summit

ACG’s APP Leadership Summit is a half-day course dedicated to the professional development and leadership growth of APPs in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. The summit is designed to empower APPs to lead effectively within their clinical practices, institutions, and professional organizations – fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, innovation, and sustainability in GI care delivery.
Through practical frameworks, real-world examples, and perspectives from physician and APP leaders across diverse practice models, participants will gain actionable tools to expand their leadership impact and align their career growth with evolving workforce and practice needs.
Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of this Leadership Summit, APPs will be able to:
- Apply leadership, communication and negotiation strategies to effectively influence clinical operations, professional relationships and organizational decision-making within gastroenterology practice settings.
- Evaluate practice models, performance metrics, and leadership pathways in academic and community gastroenterology practices to align individual career goals with sustainable, high-impact, professionally fulfilling roles.
- Leverage professional development tools, including mentorship, sponsorship, performance metrics and digital presence, to enhance credibility, advance career growth, and expand leadership influence as an APP.
Target Audience:
The course is intended for APPs in Gastroenterology and Hepatology who are interested in leadership growth and professional development. The content is relevant to APPs practicing in both academic medical centers and community/private practice, including those in early, mid and established career stages.
